Nasi Lemak @ Work

Ever wonder what we eat when we’re working late and don’t have the luxury of time to go out and get food?

Kajang Satay

It’s been awhile since I last had some nice juicy satay and as Wilson and Tony just got back from the Singapore Salsa Festival and with loads of stories to tell, I decide to catch up with them after work over a good meal of Kajang Satay.

What I had was some chicken Meat Satay and some Deer Meat Satay. I would have to say that the deer meat is slightly overpriced in my opinion. Looking at the price, I decide to skip the usual rabbit meats but definitely will order that when I go back again.

Chicken Chop @ SS3

Restaurant Hup Soon was the place my parents and I went on Sunday to have our western food fix. Don't compare it with places like Victoria Station and all cause you basically pay through your nose at those places for the services as the food will usually be almost quite similar. It's True! How many ways can you make a black pepper chicken chop? Got what I'm saying?

This restaurant's quite famous and is locate in SS3, anyone who lives within the area of Petaling Jaya would know how to get there. And this is what I ate that day. Black Pepper Chicken Chop with a bowl of Campbell's Mushroom soup. And plus drinks, you pay less than RM15 for it. Good deal huh?

You might be wondering, hey! There's something missing here that most western restaurant serves with their food... BREAD!

Well my friend, we did have bread.. Garlic Bread summore. But before I could whip out the camera, the bread was already down our mouth into our stomach.

Dome @ Berjaya Time Square

It was a very long day for me yestesday with meetings from morning all the way to night. Only consolation from all this is, half way through the morning meeting, we decide to continue with some breakfast at DOME while we talk. Always better to think with a full stomach. Right?

What we had is the following...

C&C are welcome, if you are an organization and would like to get me to cover your event or do some simple photoshoot, you can write to me at zique76@hotmail.com

Breakfast @ Cyberview Lodge

Staying in Cyberview Lodge, you'd also get as part of your room package, BREAKFAST.

Being typical of a hotel, it's all buffet style but I'm not complaining as I just grabbed whatever I could stuff into my stomach. I was very hungry at the time. Running back and forth, these are what I ate.

And to wash it all down, I had 2 glasses of Orange juice and a cuppa Black Coffee. Was it good? I was hungry, and I don't care how it taste, as long as it's edible and would get past my mouth into my throat, I'm good.

The Coast @ Alamanda

If you're looking for a cheaper version of TGIF, head over to THE COAST. I did just that over the weekend for dinner and my only complain about The Coast @ Alamanda was that, the Service? SUCK BIG TIME! Yup. It took them 15minutes to come take our order and that's after I walk up to them and tell them that I would like to get some service. Then it took them another 30minutes to serve our food. Imagine, sitting there for 30minutes just for your drink to arrive and then a bit more before the food appears on the table.

My own conspiracy theory about this whole thing is, 1. It's the ramadhan month, and the staffs being muslims, are fasting and become
Lethargic. 2. They prefer to serve the ramadhan buffet line as they don't have to do much and they can also break fast as well. 3. Ala Carte are harder to prepare so they try to avoid customers who orders that.

Well, it's just my own conspiracy theory. Anyway, these are the food that was finally served to us.

Cheese Nachos, I took a bite and almost chocked to death. So to all my enemies (if I have any), this is one of the ways you can kill me. By serving me dairy products.

Volcano Ribeye Steak, I asked for medium rare but I don't think they understand english as it came over cooked.

And this is the trio dip, I think the only dish that was served that didn't go wrong. With me anyway. We also had the Southern Fried Chicken Salad and 2 glasses of coke but the picture turned out crappy, I'd blame the camera for not focusing properly but then, it could also be my own skill. Would I go back to The Coast again for food? Yes, but never the one in Alamanda.

Birthday Dinner

MiSsMyNx took me to Vintry for my birthday's dinner. As we'll be away for my actual birthday (Today), we decided to go for our dinner yesterday. Anyway, this post isn't about why I went for dinner.

If you love wine, that's a beautiful place to go to. It's located at the row of shops behind Victoria Station in Bukit Damansara. So it's easy to find if you know how to get to that area. To dine there, make sure you give them a call prior to going, just to make a reservation as there's drove and drove of people that goes there. Slightly late and you won't have a place to seat. Their no.'s 03-2094-8262.

Now to the main menu. These are what we ate.

Squid Fritters, didn't really like this dish as it was a bit salty for me.
Deep Fried Pork Strips, this is one of their main favorite dishes. In actual fact, all their Pork related dishes are their best. My kind of restaurant.

Sauteed Mushroom, for a person who doesn't fancy mushroom much, I almost cleaned up this dish by myself.

This is one of their favorite dish as well, the Baked Eggs, a lot of people like it, I didn't.

Pan Fried Dory Fish, I regretted ordering this dish as the fish was too dried and I should have stucked to ordering everything that's pork.

To top it all off, we opened a bottle of Quinta do Noval Ruby Port wine. Excellent Sweet wine.
Thank You MiSsMyNx for the wonderful dinner, will I go again? Yes, definitely a place to go for wine and good pork related fine dining.
Lastly, Happy Birthday to myself.

Wan Tan Mee @ Sg. Rengit

Can you imagine driving 500+km to a place just to have Wan Tan Mee? Nope, I didn't just travel over 500km to a place just to have Wan Tan Mee. But that's what I had for lunch. 5hours drive to a small fishing village/town called Sungai Rengit sure is tiring, and the best way to reward ourselves? A good lunch before work starts.

At first, I was just aiming for the Wan Tan Mee... then I saw the cook holding out a tray of....

Wild Boar meat! I just had to get myself some...

The two dishes complimented each other very well. IMHO of course.

I can't say that these are the best Wan Tan Mee and Wild Boar meat I've eaten but then, heck, you try driving 500km+ to anywhere, any food you eat will taste nice.

Pork Ball Noodle @ Lucky Garden, Bangsar

By the time this post is up, I should be on my way down to Sungai Rengit, Johor. 7 hours drive. ARGH! The wonderful thing is? I'm driving back tonight after my meeting. So... 7hours drive there, 3hours meeting and 7hours drive back.

I'm sure a lot of people know of this Pork Ball Noodle stall in Restaurant Chun Heong. You do too right? Somehow, even though the preparation of the food is very simple, yet it has that distinct taste that is just ... addictive.

The place was packed with customers waiting in line for their Pork Ball Noodles. AS for me, found myself a place to sit and I just give the guy a thumb's up and shout "BESAR! (in Cantonese)". And he gives the Thumb's up as well.

5minutes later... my food showed itself.

Chee Cheong Fun

I had Chee Cheong Fun for lunch, you might say that what's so special about Chee Cheong Fun?

Well, let me tell you this, in this area, the Chee Cheong Fun is like heaven. Why? Cause it's the only source of Pork that only comes about on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Yup, only 2 days in a week, and the line of people waiting for their turn to get the Chee Cheong Fun starts at 11.45am. I went down at 12pm and I was shocked to see a long line of men and women waiting for their turn. I thought most corporate office's lunch hour is at 1pm? Why are these people there? It's Madness!

Well, yeah. If you don't know yet by now, all the restaurants that is operating in the Bukit Damansara area does not sell pork. Regardless of whether they are a chinese restaurant or not. So to have a van that comes by on Tuesdays and Thursdays is fantastic. Finally the Pork Saviour is here!
